Abstract

he importance of this study comes from the great interest that the topic of the relationship between religion and democracy receives, and the latter’s relationship with Islam. The interest of contemporary jurists, researchers, and thinkers in the topic of democracy, as well as what politicians are calling for at the present time, led to Islamists shedding light on the word democracy and the concepts and meanings of this phrase. Different concepts have sparked widespread controversy among thinkers, some of whom consider them among Western concepts that are alien to Islamic society
