Palestinian missile deterrence between qualitative exclusivity and strategic balance of terror
Abstract
Deterrence is as old as man, as it is a sign of force that is not used sometimes. In order to achieve the desired goals that the deterrent seeks, the term “deterrence” was mentioned in Mukhtar Al-Sihah, meaning to stop and rebuke. It is a deterrent and the effect is deterred, for example: a father deters his son from lying, i.e. restrains and prevents him from lying. The Muslim Arabs used deterrence on a large scale, as the Holy Qur’an indicated the importance of deterrence
