The Role Of political Educational Socialization Institutions to Reduce Extremist Ideology

Abstract

The concept of extremism has emerged early in human history and has become a dangerous phenomenon threatening social stability, civil peace, and national unity. Extremism takes various forms, including ideological, religious, and political extremism. There are many reasons for extremism, including poverty, corruption, and unemployment. Social reasons include family disintegration, poor social upbringing, and cultural factors such as cultural invasion and the information revolution. There are also political reasons, such as lack of political experience, power struggles, dictatorship, external interventions, marginalization, sectarianism, and non-compliance with the constitution and poor political socialization.

The research paper addressed the relationship between extremist ideology and its impact on individuals, as well as the role of political socialization institutions, including political parties, which play a significant role in combating extremism through enlightenment and awareness-raising campaigns and engaging other parties worldwide in exchanging views and experiences on the topics of violence, extremism, and terrorism, especially in societies dominated by extremism, which reflects on the political behavior of citizens.
